Mount Kailash in Tibet is known as a holy site among Hindu, Bon, Buddhist and Jain. Mount Kailash is believed to be the ultimate destination of souls and spiritual destination of whole world. It is believed to be the place of Lord Siva’s “The God of all Gods” in Hinduism. It is also home of Buddha Damchok who represents supreme bliss of Buddhism and the place all spiritual power in the Bon religion. In this Holy Yatra Lake Manasarovar, Lake Raktsesh, Tirthapuri, Asthapath, Nandi and Kailash Parikrama are the most popular pilgrimage sites. To be in Mount Kailash and Manasarovar is to be in Heaven on Earth.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal (1300 m)

Day 02: Kathmandu – visit Pashupatinath Temple

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Nyalam, Tibet, 3750 m (150 km)

Day 04: Nyalam – day free for acclimatization

Day 05: Nyalam – New Dongba 4600 m. (390 km)

Day 06: New Dongba – Mansarovar 4558 m (277 km)

Day 07: Mansarovar – Tarchen (40 km)

Day 08: Tarchen – Tarboche (13 km drive) – Dirapuk (4860 m.) (7 km trek / 5 – 6 hrs)

Day 09: Dirapuk – Zuthulpuk (4760 m) (18 km trek / 9-10 km) (passing through Dolma-la pass 5,200 m). O/N Government Hotel.

Day 10: Zuthulpuk – Tarchen (Darchen) (10 km / 4-5 hrs) – Mansarovar- Dongba (end of Kailash Parikrama).

Day 11: Drive Dongba to Nyalam (376 km) 7-8 hrs.

Day 12: Drive Nylam to Kathmandu (156 km) 6-7 hrs

Day 13: Final Departure

 

 

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 m)

Welcome at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our representative will greet you and escort you to the hotel for check-in and overnight stay. Meals included.

Day 02: Kathmandu, Visit temples

After breakfast, we go for half-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. Visit Pashupatinath Temple and Budhanilakantha. Return to hotel for lunch. After lunch  we will allow free time for final preparation for Kailash pilgrimage tour i.e.,checking the equipment which will be used during the tour. If you need to buy a few things or rent something, our staff will assist you. In the evening Chinese visas and Tibet permits will be handed over and briefing about the trip will be organized. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Nyalam 3750 m (150 km)

After early breakfast we drive through Bhaktapur, Dhulikhel and reach Friendship Bridge (i.e. Nepal-China border). From here we walk for about 10 minutes to cross Friendship Bridge and meet our Tibetan guide and land cruiser drivers. After all the immigration and custom formalities at the Chinese check post here, our journey continues for another 35 km which can take almost 3 hours through the up-winding road to Nyalam with beautiful scenery. Then, you will be transferred to the guest house in Nyalam (3700m). The facilities of the guesthouse are very simple and basic. We spend overnight here. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 04: Nyalam

Today is free for acclimatization. We will be going for short trek in preparation for Kailash Parikrama and it helps us to acclimatize fast. Overnight stay at Nyalam guest house. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 05: Nyalam – New Dongba 4600 m. (390 km)

After breakfast drive to Paryang. Passing through many villages and camps of yak herders. Far south you can see snow-capped mountain peaks. Most of the time you will be driving on plains, hence a comfortable drive. Arrive in Paryang and enjoy hot tea. Overnight stay at guest house. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 06: New Dongba – Mansarovar 4558 m (277 km)

Early breakfast and get ready for longest driving day. Late afternoon you can have first view of Holy Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Hore – a small village is situated near Holy Mansarovar Lake. Holy Mansarovar (14,950 ft/4558m) – the highest lake of fresh water with turquoise complexion in the world is full of fishes and swans. Holy Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandala, Lake Rakshash surround it. The region is considered rich with gold and other mines, hot springs and hundreds of wild living creatures. Night at Chui Gompa. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 07: Mansarovar – Tarchen (40 km)

Holy Mansarovar is the lake of compassion, tranquility and bliss. After completing the memorable morning bath and puja we will be heading for Holy Mansarovar Parikrama by land cruiser with packed lunch and continue drive towards Tarchen (Darchen). If time permits, we visit Chui Gompa. Tarchen is considered as a base camp for Holy Kailash Parikrama. During the auspicious pilgrimage time, this place will be flooded with pilgrims with hundreds of tents all around. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Overnight at hotel in Kailash.

Day 08: Tarchen – Tarboche (13 km drive) – Dirapuk (4860 m.) (7 km trek / 5–6 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Tarboche, starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Tarboche is also known as outer “Asthapath.” Walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs, with waterfalls and some clouds in the clear blue sky will make you feel that Great God Shiva is everywhere with tons of blessing for you. From time to time the face of Kailash Parbat will appear. This seven km trail takes almost seven hours. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Overnight at government hotel.

Day 09: Dirapuk – Zuthulpuk (4760 m) (18 km trek / 9-10 km) (passing through Dolma-la pass 5,200 m)

Today you will be climbing to Drolma-la (Dolma-La 18600 ft) and than descending gradually to Zuthulpuk (4760m). Yamasthal will be crossed to reach the Shiva-sthal while your steps get closer to the pass. Today is the most difficult day of the trek. Once you reach the top, we will do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget in eternity. Once your steps go down, Parvati-stal and Gauri Kunda are on the way. By late afternoon you will arrive in Zuthulpuk (the cave of Miracles, the great ascetic Milerapa is supposed to have preformed miracles here). Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Overnight at government hotel.

Day 10: Zuthulpuk – Tarchen (Darchen) (10 km / 4-5 hrs) – Mansarovar- Dongba (end of Kailash Parikrama)

Morning free time to explore the caves, temples and shrines around Milarepa cave. After walking three hours,  the driving crew will be waiting for your arrival. By late afternoon you will be at your lodge in Dongba. Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day 11: Drive Dongba to Nyalam (376 km) 7-8 hrs.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Overnight at Nyalam Guesthouse

Day 12: Drive Nylam to Kathmandu (156 km) 6-7 hrs.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13: Final Departure.

After breakfast we will drive you to airport for your onward journey.
